Monday Morning Meeting Mistake
Picture this: You're scrolling through your calendar on Sunday night, and there it is: a Monday morning meeting staring back at you. Your stomach drops a little, doesn't it? That's not just you being dramatic. There's actual science behind why Monday morning meetings can sabotage your entire week.
As someone who spent over 20 years running corporate teams (and made this mistake more times than I care to admit), I've learned that when you schedule meetings matters just as much as what you discuss in them.
Block your Monday mornings from 8-11 AM.
Create a recurring "no meetings" block on your calendar during these peak productivity hours. This isn't being difficult; it's being strategic. You're either in "conquer the world" mode (perfect for tackling your hardest tasks) or you need time to ease into the week. Either way, sitting in a conference room isn't serving you.
And, if you are a manager, asking your team to be in a Monday morning meeting means you are either losing out on someone’s positive Monday high productivity energy, or you have people in the room that are not back in work mode yet.
Give yourself catch-up time before adding new tasks.
Use those first 30-60 minutes on Monday to process weekend messages, review your weekly plan, and mentally transition into work mode. When you jump straight into meetings that generate new to-dos, you start the week feeling behind before you've even begun.
Schedule planning meetings for Wednesday afternoons instead.
This is when your energy is steady (not artificially high) and you can realistically assess how long projects will take. Plus, your team can review the current week's progress and head into the rest of the week with a clear plan ahead.
Apply the "30-minute buffer rule" to your meeting schedule.
If your workday starts at 9 AM, don't schedule meetings before 9:30 AM. Same goes for the end of the day: nobody wants a 4 PM Friday meeting. Give people breathing room to start and end their days with intention.

- Plan-a-Palooza tickets are officially here!

This is my once-a-year live annual planning workshop where I teach women how to create a 2026 roadmap that actually works with their real life, not the "set goals and cross your fingers" kind of planning, but the kind that acknowledges curve balls happen and some months are busier than others.
Over two days (October 15-16), we'll gather all your planning information, break down big goals into actionable steps, and create your "Annual One Pager" and "Year at a Glance" tools that will guide you all year long. Early bird tickets start at just $47 through August 31st, but they literally double in September, so don't wait! - Feel-Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal

I've said it before, but I have to say it again: most productivity books are written with men's lives in mind, filled with rigid routines that don't work when you're juggling careers, families, and everything in between.
That's why "Feel Good Productivity" by Ali Abdaal completely surprised me. I went in skeptical, but what I found was a refreshing, realistic take on productivity that actually fits real life, especially if you struggle with procrastination, burnout, or feeling disconnected from how you spend your time. This book takes into account the mental load and constant demands that most productivity advice completely ignores, and it prioritizes joy and energy over just grinding through your to-do list.

Do This BEFORE School Starts (Most Parents Don't Know This)
Back-to-school prep usually means buying supplies and clothes, but what about the strategies that actually prevent first-week chaos? Most parents never hear about them. In this video, I'm sharing three simple steps that can transform your family's transition from summer to school year, and you can start implementing them today instead of scrambling when school actually starts.
You'll learn how to "bookend" your weekends to avoid back-to-school burnout, the sleep transition strategy that prevents those awful first-week meltdowns, and why loading your school calendar NOW saves your sanity all year long. The best part? I'm giving you specific timing for each step so you're never caught off guard when that first Monday morning hits.

In this week's Weekly Buzz, I'm breaking down why this productivity advice fails so many women and what to do instead when you need structure that actually works with real life. Spoiler alert: the solution isn't trying harder to stick to someone else's perfect week.
