Does This Have To Be Right Now?
I was standing in my kitchen the other day, in the middle of building out my grocery list, totally focused and actually making progress, and then a text came through about some forms I needed to fill out for a doctor's appointment that was ten days away.
And my immediate thought was, oh, I'll just do that right now.
I'm guessing you've been there too.
We live in a world where everything feels urgent, and because of that we're constantly treating everything like it belongs in the "right now" category. You sit down to make a grocery list and an hour later you've answered a form, looked up three random things, maybe reorganized a drawer, and the grocery list still isn't done. It's exhausting, and it doesn't have to be this way.
Here's the one question that changed things for me, and I think it'll do the same for you.
1. Ask "does this have to be right now?" every single time
Not "can I do it right now" but "does it HAVE to be right now." That tiny word swap is everything, because one is about convenience and the other is about actual urgency. When that text came in, I stopped and asked myself that question, and since the appointment was ten days out, the answer was clearly no. I kept going with my grocery list and nothing bad happened. đ
Most things, probably 90% of them or more, genuinely do not need your attention in the next five minutes. I promise.
2. Give the "not right now" stuff somewhere to live
This is the step that makes or breaks the whole thing. We handle things in the moment because we're afraid we'll forget, and we're afraid because we have no reliable place to put them. So our brain convinces us that doing it now is the safe move, even when it's completely derailing us from what we were actually working on.
It doesn't have to be fancy. A folder in your email, a note in your phone, or a physical notebook all work. I personally use my one notebook and just jot things down right there so my brain can let go without losing them. One place. That's it.
3. Actually go back through it every week
A holding spot without a review habit is just another pile of stuff stressing you out. Each week I go back through my notebook and decide what moves into my plan for the week and what gets batched into one focused block of time to knock out all at once. That weekly review is what makes you actually trust the system, and once you trust it, that urgent pull to handle everything immediately starts to lose its grip.
You get to decide what's urgent
Not your notifications. Not your inbox. You. So this week, every time something interrupts you, pause and ask whether it actually has to happen right now, and if the answer is no, put it somewhere safe and keep going.

How to Plan When Your Life Requires You to Be Reactive
Do you love making lists but find yourself with different ones scattered everywhere: home projects, work tasks, personal goals, kids' stuff?
In this video, I'm walking you through why all those separate lists actually make it harder to see what matters most when you're trying to figure out what to tackle next. I'm sharing the one consolidated, prioritized list system that finally made planning easy for me and helps you stay on top of everything without the overwhelm.
You'll learn why one central list makes it easier to capture everything competing for your time, how keeping everything together helps you quickly see priorities, when it actually makes sense to have separate lists for work and personal, and why this one simple shift makes realistic planning possible. If you're a list lover who's been drowning in too many lists, this will change everything.

What to Do With All Those Screenshots on Your Phone
You're scrolling through social media, and you see a book you want to read, a recipe you want to try, or a product you want to research, so you screenshot it. Fast forward a week, and your camera roll is cluttered with screenshots you'll probably never look at again.
This week's Weekly Buzz tackles exactly what to do with all those screenshots so they don't just sit there forever taking up space. I'm walking through my Friday routine for processing a week's worth of photos and screenshots, how to get that information into the right permanent home where you'll actually use it, and why treating screenshots the same way you process notes in your notebook keeps everything organized. If your camera roll is a chaotic mess of screenshots you meant to do something with, this video gives you a simple weekly process to handle it.
